Suchitra Bhattacharya was born on January 10, 1950 in Bhagalpur, after she studied at the school and collage in South Kolkata. She started full time writing during the nineties, however, since the late seventies she began to focus on writing. She wrote twenty four novels and countless short stories. Her written several short stories and novels have been translated into several Indian languages as Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Oriya, marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi and also English. An educated and half-educated women became increasingly self-assured by read her novels. This is the fruition of her writings. Today sharable book of her writing- Dheu Ase Dheu Jay.
