Among the novels written on the Partition of 1947, one of the best is considered by Atin Bandyopadhyay's "Nilkantha Pakhir Khoje" series. There are four episodes in this series. The first episode- Nilkantha Pakhir Khoje, second episode- Manusher Gharbari, third episode- Aloukik Jolojan, forth and last- Ishwarer Bagan. He was born in 1937 in Dhaka district. After the partition he came Calcutta as a splinter. He started his career as a teacher. Then he did various work in abroad, the publication company's adviser, finally journalism. The author got Manik awards by writing 'Samudra Manush' (1958), Bankim Award for the novel 'Dui Bharatavarsa' (1998), and received the Sahitya Academy award in 2001.
